This was a crazy day. We had been playing this game, Skull King, an excessive amount. We played at least one game every single evening. There had been a rivalry developing between Tanna and Riley, who are both ridiculously competitive. They had started making bets on what the other person would have to do if they lost. One example of such a bet was that Tanna had to eat only soup for the entire next day if she lost. And she lost. And she only ate soup. They were serious about this.
So skip ahead, it's the 10th and final round of the game. The game ends, and their scores are tied, so there's no winner. We have no idea what to do. We couldn't end with a tie, so we checked everything in the rule book to see if it said what to do in such a situation. Nothing. But we saw that Grandpa Beck (founder of Grandpa Beck's Games) had his personal phone number listed in the rulebook. So we called him up on his Idaho phone number from Israel, and he answered. We were freaking out. Our idol, the creator of this game, was on the phone with us and we were so excited. But most excited was Riley, the one who introduced us to the game in the first place. We were about to hang up after we asked our question (he told us to just play another round with 10 cards each) but Riley came up to the phone, which was on speaker, and he said, tripping over his words because of how star-struck he was, "OKAY wait this is like my favorite game ever, I love this game. I'm a huge fan, I'm not even joking. I've gotten everyone here to love this game, it is so good." Riley was just so happy to talk to Grandpa Beck and it was so cute haha. I think Riley lost so he had to sing Bohemian Rhapsody in the talent show.
